​ACADEMICS

The Work Study program’s goal is to instill good work habits, and each student is expected to faithfully meet their work assignments. 

 

The Work Study Program will include various 

work opportunities and Career Technical Education – (CTE).

CTE encourages students to develop, present, complete, and implement a business plan for their own independent business enterprise.

CURRICULUM

 

Students are expected to complete grade/skill appropriate curriculum/courses, such as passing at least 2-3 AP courses, and successfully pass courses with a B+ or higher average (all necessary courses & electives).

 

Students will have the opportunity of completing high school at LHI (most preferable), or return to their “home” school—on target to graduate within “correct” year, or obtain a G.E.D. (General Equivalency Diploma) .

 

Type of curriculum to include: 

  • History---US; African American; Government, Economics, Political Science, Pan-Africanism

  • Math----Pre-Calculus, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry/Calculus

  • Science---Integrative Earth Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Anatomy and Physiology

  • English—American and African-American, Literature, Composition, Creative & Technical/Business Writing;

  • Electives-- Various

 

** Each subject area includes options for Advance Placement courses that are recognized by the College Board.
